ADHD Friendly and Accommodating

Therapy is hard, at Wild Meadows it’s important to make sure it’s hard for the right reasons.

  • UNDERSTANDING

A therapist who understands. It can be hard to describe concepts like executive dysfunction, rejection sensitivity, ADHD paralysis and chronic overwhelm.

Fidgets, weighted blankets, coloring books and other tools available at the office.

  • FLEXIBILITY

Options for online scheduling, rescheduling and cancellations.

    Flexibiility around telehealth/in office sessions.

I don’t charge for cancellations, as long as you can communicate with me prior to the session start time. Sometimes we overbook, or don’t give ourselves enough time between appointments. It’s a challenge we can discuss, but you won’t be penalized for it. (“No-shows” without any communication do still have a fee).

  • TIMING

Flexibility around session time. (30 min, 45min, 60min, and 90 min sessions available).

Sometimes you get what you need out of 30 minutes, but sometimes it takes a bit to transition into ‘therapy mode’ and 90 minutes can be more helpful.

  • COMMUNICATION

Options for phone or email consultations for new clients, depending on your preferences.

Upon request, a session summary with topics discussed or reflections can be sent after sessions.

  • SKILLS & STRATEGIES

Part of the work in therapy is processing the impacts of ADHD. It can lead to shame, negative self-talk, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, etc.

The other half of the work can be identifying specific strategies and creative ideas to make your life easier based on knowledge of how ADHD brains operate.

  • AUTOMATION

Easily set up text or email reminders for appointments.

Autopay option available to avoid dealing with invoices and adding more to your to do list.
